Yerba Maté

Well known health benefits of drinking Yerba Mate: Anti-inflammatory effects: Despite all the supplements we have ever tried, adequately prepared and consumed Yerba has the greatest subjective effect on reducing inflammation, whether in illness (similar effect as aspirin), toothache, muscles, tendons and joints (similar to ibuprofen) or, for example, hangover. It improves memory, increases energy, concentration and mental clarity, refreshes the mind, improves mood swings and sometimes brings a slight euphoria.

What is Yerba Mate and what are its effects?

Yerba Maté is an evergreen tree that grows to a height of (up to) 18 m. It requires moisture, plenty of precipitation and can handle temperatures down to -6 ° C. It blooms from October to November. In South America, Yerba Mate is referred to as the "drink of the Gods" and will win you over with its slightly bitter taste, which is the work of the saponins that Yerba contains.

Because many of us need to stimulate the brain daily and support mental performance, Yerba is suitable for daily drinking. You can water one dose of Yerba (2-3 tablespoons) repeatedly throughout the day and drink it while working or learning. In addition to stimulating the brain, it protects, for example, the heart and liver or lowers cholesterol. Due to its properties, Yerba Maté has gained popularity all over the world today, including Europe, where it can serve as a suitable alternative to coffee. Probably the biggest advantage of Yerba Maté is its stimulating effect described above. The stimulating effect is more natural than one from synthetic stimulants. Synthetic stimulants release adrenaline and norepinephrine but Yerba Maté can, moreover, release dopamine and can probably also increase the availability of serotonin (similar to some hard drugs), without addiction, withdrawal syndrome or adverse health effects.

Helps burn fat and balance fat burning hormones:

  • Reduces appetite.
  • Increases insulin and leptin sensitivity.
  • Inhibits adipogenesis.
  • Stimulates catecholamines (increases lipolysis).
  • It has anti-inflammatory effects.
  • Contains Ursolic acid, which helps maintain muscle mass and burn fat.

Yerba Maté can be enriched with various herbs such as Ginkgo biloba or Guarana, a combo that we have included in our yerba “Brainiac”. It supports brain functions, especially concentration and memory. If you are new to yerba, you may appreciate the sweeter flavors of forest or tropical fruits, oranges or pomelo. For lovers of the classic yerba taste, pure yerba “Organic” without other ingredients is ideal.
