Vitamins and Antioxidants
Vitamins belong to a group of micronutrients that the human body cannot create on its own. Today's lifestyle has even greater demands on the supply of vitamins and antioxidants that fight free radicals. In this category you can find the best complex of the most important vitamins and antioxidants.
In today's modern hectic lifestyle, our body needs an increased content of micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Recurrent infections, respiratory diseases or frequent inflammations can be sufficient warning for us. With all this, the body signals that we need to take care of our health, which we can support with dietary supplements. Supplements won't give us the same amount of vitamins and minerals as a healthy diet would, but they can easily fill in the vitamin gaps that our body might have. In the same way, dietary supplements can often solve recurring problems without always having to resort to medication.
The need for vitamins and minerals is constantly rising. Many people, especially the elderly or people with health conditions that prevents the body from absorbing vitamins, can be at risk for vitamin deficiencies. It is clear, that if we often suffer from various infections or diseases, there is a 100% chance, that we are low on vitamins.
Minerals - the basis of physical and mental condition
We know a lot about minerals because they are largely involved in the functioning of our physical side. Bones, muscles and most important organs work just on a sufficient supply of minerals. In addition, minerals also contribute to the state of our mental health. There are two categories that essential minerals fall into: macrominerals, which we need in larger quantities, and trace minerals, which we only need in small quantities. Even if we only need small amounts of trace minerals, it is still important to get them regularly and their lack can have a negative impact on our health.
We might be surprised at what effect properly chosen minerals can have. Among the most important we can name magnesium or potassium, which have a great effect on physical and mental performance.
Antioxidants - a real power from nature
Our bodies also produce free radicals as by-products of cellular reactions. For example, the liver produces and uses free radicals to detoxify the body, while white blood cells emit free radicals to destroy bacteria, viruses and damaged cells. When certain types of oxygen molecules are allowed to travel freely in the body, they cause so-called oxidative damage, which is the formation of free radicals. Effect? Accelerated aging, damaged or mutated cells, broken tissue, activation of harmful genes in DNA and overloaded immune system.
Antioxidants include dozens of substances. The term "antioxidant" does not actually refer to one particular compound, but rather to the activity of particular compounds in the body. There are many different types of antioxidants, including several antioxidant vitamins, minerals and polyphenols. The best known antioxidants include lycopene, lutein, zeaxanthin, anthocyanins, quercetin, rutin or glutathione. We can often find antioxidants in plant foods and other specific foods but the amount of antioxidants in those is limited. That is why we have prepared this category in which you can find the best and most effective antioxidants that nature has to offer.
